Market Yourself During Your Job Hunt with a Professional Headshot

You may think that your digital camera or phone is perfect for capturing pictures, but using it to take a headshot for a potential employer may not work as well as you think. A professional headshot shows you are serious and trustworthy candidate that is demanding their attention.

As social media continues to move closer in achieving its goals of world domination, employers are looking for ways to give their candidates a face and personality before they contact and meet them. While there are plenty of jobs available that are ripe for the picking, getting those jobs is not as easy as it used to be. More employers are using social media sites and the Internet to learn information about job candidates that may not already be on their resumes. While employers should not use one’s appearance against them, a professional Nashville TN headshot can give you an edge over the competition. Delivering a professional headshot with your resume can give your resume a stronger presence, and help employers to feel more connected to you. A picture of you out hanging with your friends at the bar or in a bathing suit is not a good representation of your professional look. Show potential employers how serious you are by adding a headshot that is taken by a Nashville Tennessee professional photographer to your portfolio. Your resume is not the only thing you can use to market your brand, a professional picture works just as well. Wilkes Photography is now part of the PPA and PPMT

Hello All,
Just to let you know Leslie Wilkes Photography has joined the Professional Photographers of America or more commonly known as the PPA.  I will begin working on my Master Certification Certificate through their rigorous training classes in order to advance myself as a Photographer and an Educator.  I also joined the local arm of the PPA, called the Professional Photographers of Middle Tennessee (PPMT).  Both of theses organizations are great to be apart of and will open up a new world of resources and experiences as a photography studio.  I look forward to growing and learning a lot from both of these fine professional organizations.

What’s in a Photograph?

A lot more goes into taking a photo than you might think. It’s not just about pointing your camera and pressing a button. The photographer has to make sure that the photo is eye-catching. This means that if you look at it from a distance, you’ll want to come closer and see it better. For that, photographers have to pay attention to colors and shapes, and how they balance and complement each other.

Composition is one element of photography that needs a lot of attention. This part is about the photograph's area and the objects and subject contained within the photograph. See examples and read all about it by CLICKING HERE.

For an experienced lesson in photography, Leslie Wilkes, a Nashville Photographer and teacher, can take your photographs to much higher levels, from learning to use your DSLR camera to framing and compositional elements within the photo.
